Located along the E411 freeway, the building housing workshops and offices for the BIA group (specialized in the distribution of civil engineering and construction machinery) has been renovated to meet current comfort standards but also to meet the company's brand image.
The main facade of the office buildings is covered with a new cork envelope for its insulating and acoustic qualities, its raw appearance and its low energy footprint. In this spirit, the transformation of the building has been entirely thought out following the principles of a cradle to cradle renovation - dismantlability, reuse, low energy footprint. This leads to a project with a low environmental cost and an attractive budget.
Also, in order to strengthen the cohesion between the office staff and the workers, the project owner commissioned Géraldine Vincent and Caroline Bia who proposed the staging of a selection of spare parts, in the manner of artworks. This exhibition was made possible through a participatory process with the group's workers who helped with the selection and assembly.
